Big Guns Fail To Cover The Handicap

A goalless draw for England, a workmanlike win for France, and a narrow victory for Spain in a thriller at Hampden Park combined to produce a winning night for Star Spreads.

Group leaders G Montenegro travelled to Wembley on the back of four consecutive clean sheets, and the home side found them impossible to break down. Star saw reasonable if unspectacular support for the Three Lions’s supremacy, just short of ten grand at 1.8, while one of our new clients took advantage of the spread free offer to buy a chunk of Gerrard Goal Minutes at 19.5. The Liverpool skipper has weighed in with many late goals in his time and we were glad to hear the final whistle arrive with the only late drama being Ashley Young’s swan dive in the box.

France made it two 2-0 home victories in four days, but Luxembourg were receiving a 3.7 goal start on the spreads and a £5,000 buy of Les Bleus meant a nice evening’s profit was trousered. I wonder if the French Football Federation will giving Laurent Blanc a call in the morning to mention his teams failure to cover the spread? I assume that is the measuring stick used to hire and fire international coaches…
