Maurice claims a valuable eight pounds!

Top stuff this Monday afternoon with a classy Kempton national hunt card starting at 12.30 featuring the talents of Ruby Walsh and Barry Geraghty, as well as a host of fancied Nicky Henderson runners. Ludlow stages a seven race card beginning at 12.40 and meanwhile over in Wales, Ffos Las also go with seven races this afternoon kicking off with the maiden hurdle at 12.50.

Kempton gets under way at 12.30 with the two mile maiden hurdle, a race that Nicky Henderson has won four times over the last ten years. The Lambourn trainer  is doubly represented today with Darlan appearing to be the stable select and Wise Move the mount of Jerry McGrath. Henderson also boasts an impressive 43% strike rate in novice chases here at Kempton and his Chablais will be a warm order in the two miler at 1.00.Waterford trainer John Queally sends over a couple of interesting contenders this afternoon also, Elyaadi in the mares hurdle at 1.30 and the lightly weighted Namarama in the handicap hurdle at 2.35. Both, should be monitored closely in the market. Racing closes with the conditional jockeys handicap hurdle at 3.40 a race where last week’s Fakenham winner Mangonel will be fancied to strike again and remember his trainer Jim Best has an admirable 29% strike rate here at Kempton Park.

Racing from Shropshire this afternoon where Britain’s friendliest racecourse Ludlow stages a seven race card. Watch for Michael Chapman’s Tayarat in the claimer at 12.40, he won this race in 2010! Nicky Henderson can be reasonably optimistic of landing a double on the card today
with Owen Glendower in the novice chase at 1.10 and Foxbridge, the mount of  Andy Tinkler who could be the solution to the novice hurdle at 1.45.Cork trainer Andrew Lee sends Blindspin over for the two mile handicap chase at 2.15 while fellow Irish trainer Jim Dreaper looks to follow up a recent Plumpton success in the three mile chase at 2.50 with Shernaz . Jonjo O’Neill has a healthy 38% strike rate in handicap hurdles here at Ludlow and his Mission Complete may compliment those figures in the 3.20 race. Watch for his young pilot Maurice Linehan, he’s the pride of
Charleville and good value for that eight pound claim too !

Racing at Ffos Las opens at 12.50 and it’s a race where jockey Tom Scudamore will look to enhance a healthy 67% strike rate for trainer Rebecca Curtis here at the track with High Storm , a horse who looks to be long overdue a success. Quattrocento is somewhat of a course specialist and he seeks his fourth win here at the track in the three mile handicap at 2.25.Popular jockey Noel Fehily travels here for one mount only Whispering Jack for Charlie Mann in the handicap hurdle at 3.00 and racing closes with a competitive bumper at 4.00, a race where many of the big stables are represented. Locally based Rebecca Curtis runs the unraced Vegas Cash, the mount of the inform Jason Maguire. Any positive market moves in his direction should be duly noted.
