New Year

Bought some new scales last week as I haven’t weighed myself in the best part of a year and was horrified to see I was at the all-time high of 19 stone 8 lbs, nearly clocking the scales. 274 pounds of solid lard. It’s time for some New Year’s Resolutions!

Resolution 1

I work week on/week off in Ireland so resolution number 1 is to have lost at least 2lb every time I return from Ireland until I get down to 16 stone. It’s going to have to be a lot of exercise and a little less filthy grub; I can’t go cold turkey on hot pies.

Resolution 2

Goes against resolution 1 a bit I know. I found a great Chinese restaurant in my home town of Dorking that do all you can eat for £12. It’s a proper good restaurant where you can order what you want rather than a buffet style operation. My second resolution is to get banned from this restaurant or from this offer.

Resolution 3

Resolution 3 is to make more time for friends and family as I have friends I’ve not seen in over a year who live less than one hour away.

These three things are the things I must do but I can add to that list with some try to dos.

Try To Do 1

Run a marathon, it’ll have to be late on in the year so I have a good while to train up and trim down. I did my local half marathon but it was so hilly you’d have been better off in climbing boots and the full marathon is just twice round the same circuit, so not for me. I might do the Dublin one in October so I can have a good rest up afterwards and not get woken at 6am the next day by the kids.

Try To Do 2

Next is to get the kids some passports and go abroad with them. We’ll probably get the ball rolling with camping in France. Cheapish and no flying involved.

Well let’s see how it goes I’ve got a bit of a dicky tummy at the moment so those first 2 lbs are probably gone already.
