Café Church and Food For Thought

Published On March 9, 2012 | By dominic | James

The first Sunday of every month is Café Church in my local church. It’s great: hot chocolate with whipped cream, bacon butties, cakes, biscuits etc. and these Christians can really bake also there’s crafts for the kids. I’m not religious but the missus and kids believe so I go with them.

My general feeling on religion is in theory it’s a good thing but in practice all sorts of bad things get done in the name of faith. From a punting point of view there are several runners and only one can be correct as they all differ, the only alternative to that is none of them are right. I’m for the humanists who seem to say let’s be nice to each other on our one spin on this planet.

Anyway the road to obesity is paved with bacon butties so perhaps I’ll lay off them next time as the weight loss has fallen behind schedule. I need to lose 5 pounds before I return from Ireland to remain on track for 16 stone by Christmas.
