Get Your Kit Off!

Was I the only one to wince at John Terry in his football kit at the end of the Champion’s League Final? Really – knowing you can take no part and turning up in your kit for the photos…

All the blurb was he couldn’t go up and lift the trophy but he was the first to get his hands on it. Would the kit have come out if the Munich had won?

While I respect an underdog that kept on getting off the canvas to win this elusive trophy I find it hard to be massively pleased for Cole, Terry, Drogba etc. They have increasing their already substantial bank balances and I can only imagine how the Spurs fans having Champions League football ripped from their grasp feel.

They must have thought it was in the bag with Munich 1-0 up with minutes to play; when Munich got a penalty in extra-time and finally when Munich were 3-1 up in the penalty shootout. 26 shots to 7 and 20 corners to 1 tell the tale of a Munich side that should have won.

To end on an even sourer note, I still can’t get over the fact that Crouch will take no part in the Euros and I’ll say it again a goal every 90 minutes in international football cannot be ignored but it has.
