Top 3 Over-rated NFL Players

There are plenty of betting blogs out there which say why players are good.

Today I’d like to name three players who I’ve always felt are really over-rated.

Eli Manning

Eli Manning makes it on to the list for the simple reason that he is *just* a very good quarterback. I can think of at least 10 quarterbacks I would prefer to be lining up for my team than Eli. Yes he has won 2 rings which some great quarterbacks will never do but that is simply down to the team he is playing in. In my opinion the Giants would have won those 2 rings a lot easier without Eli and would have had more opportunities to add to their tally with Brady, Rodgers, Brees or even Eli’s brother at the helm.

Maurice Jones-Drew

How good a running back is MJD? Is he really as good as the stats suggest or is he in a team that can’t throw the ball and so revert to rushing every play? I think it’s the later and that any half decent running back could fill the shoes of MJD at Jacksonville. Would BenJarvis Green-Ellis have more ball time if he were at Jacksonville rather than New England… of course he would! I think running back is the most over rated position in the NFL and bad teams have so called ‘Good Running Back’ as they don’t throw the ball. That’s why MJD makes the list.

Michael Vick

Is Michael Vick a talented quarterback… Yes. Can he throw the ball as well as most other QBs in the NFL… Yes. Can he also run the ball better than any other Quarter Back in the league… Yes. Why is he on the list then I hear you ask! Well Michael Vick’s biggest problem is staying on the field. He can’t change his game to prevent injury because he will lose why he is so good. He is in a lose lose situation in my mind and will be luck to play 10 games this year.
