Cheltenham and Other People's Fun

Sometimes we’re not massive into something but other’s enthusiasm just drags you in. So it is with me and Cheltenham. Horse racing is just something to bet on for me normally but I get swept along with all the mull (people’s views) about these 4 days of racing. Sprinter Sacre is the Black Aeroplane, Quevega won here 5 times on the bounce and loads of other stuff people enthuse at me puts a smile on my face. This year was bitter sweet as I entered a tipster’s competition with 1400 entrants and came 4th, pretty good considering I know next to nothing about it and was picking them with a pin, unfortunately 4th place was “the bubble” as only the first 3 got a prize. After years of running Cheltenham tipster competitions and never winning the trophy it was a bitter pill to swallow after picking all the winners in the 3 chosen races on the last day.

Anyway weight update is 18 stone 13 lbs and now to add to the chocolate, ice cream and no eating off the kiddie’s plate rule I’m also not allowed to use lifts. Slowly slowly catchy monkey. If the weight continues to go south I’ll keep adding these extras in. The whole thing might get a kick up the harris on Friday when my blood cholesterol tests come in. Given my lardy diet my blood is likely to be 20 % butter and cream and undoubtedbly the doc with say eat healthier. We’ll see if a miracle happens and it’s an OK result I’ll keep up the filth and turn up the exercise so hopefully the big figure will be 17 before my birthday in October. Anyway all the best and I hope Cheltenham was kind to you.
