Graham's Premier League Preview
Everton v Liverpool
The Merseyside Derby gets the weekend off to a cracking start and this latest chapter in the rivalry promises to be as fierce as ever given their lofty positions in the table going into the encounter.
The Reds go into the game knowing that a win will take them back to the top for at least a few hours with Arsenal playing later in the day and they will have the fearsome attacking trio of Coutinho, Suarez and Sturridge starting for only the second time this season. The way they dismantled Fulham in their last outing was very impressive and confidence will be high. Confidence will also be high in the home dressing room with an unbeaten home record to their name so far this season including a hard fought victory over Chelsea. Romelu Lukaku has been in terrific form and looks set to cause problems for a Liverpool backline which is depleted due to the news that Jose Enrique requires surgery on a troublesome knee. I can see goals at both ends in an enthralling match that shouldn’t be missed.
ADVICE
2pt BUY Total Goals @ 2.8
Arsenal v Southampton
The Gunners look to continue their impressive league campaign with a win over the visiting Saints but this will be anything but straightforward for the home side. Southampton have already emerged from Anfield and Old Trafford this season with positive results and I fancy they will be up to the task of escaping defeat at the Emirates. They have based their success so far on a solid backline that has conceded just 5 league goals all season, this allied with some potent attacking flair via the impressive Adam Lallana and fellow England new boy Jay Rodriguez makes them a very difficult team to beat.
Getting with the visitors on the Supremacy market looks the clue here.
ADVICE
2pt SELL Arsenal/Southampton @ 0.9
West Ham v Chelsea
West Ham have looked poor in recent weeks with no wins in their last 4 League games and the way they capitulated in the second half at Carrow Road having led at half-time was worrying for Hammers fans. Chelsea haven’t looked secure on their travels with disappointing defeats at Newcastle and Everton but you can be sure Mourinho won’t allow any more lacklustre performances and I can see them winning this one comfortably. A small Buy of the Bookings should pay dividends also in what promises to be a feisty contest.
ADVICE
3pt BUY Chelsea/West Ham @ 1.1
1pt BUY Total Bookings @ 38
