Star Weekend Trading

A quiet start on the 3rd Ashes Test match was followed by the big game of the weekend-Man City v Arsenal. One word to describe the 6-3 home win. Bloodbath. As we have our Christmas party this week my plans of lobster or a juicy steak have been downgraded to a pot noodle or possible McDonalds happy meal. We failed to win on a single market on the shootout from the Etihad, Obviously goals made up 9 and other juicy make ups of 170 for shirts, 16 corners and 531 minutes meant we were licking out wounds and in a mess before the 3 o’clock action.

A quiet Saturday afternoon meant nothing back in the positive column and our only cheer on the rugby was the hope of getting Munster beat for our long term positions. All was looking good until an injury time try gave Munster the win. Roll on Sunday.

A Premier League double header of Villa vs Man Utd and Spurs v Liverpool brought high volume of bets but no monsters laid. However the punters went with United and never really had a moments doubt as they ran out comfortable winners 3-0. Our only saving grace was Rooney failing to score thwarting his goal minute buyers at 31. These buyers came out in force again for Suarez and he did not let anyone down. Buyers at 33 could count themselves a touch disappointed with a 102 make up as he terrorized an outclassed Tottenham. Thankfully slightly more punters backed Spurs than Liverpool on various markets so ‘nothing done’ on what looked like dangerous results was more than acceptable heading into the NFL.

Bloodbath part 2. Our biggest bets struck were backers of Washington, Seattle and Kansas and all of them covered and Seattle and Kansas won by over 20pts. Our final cheer was for Green Bay at Dallas and after trailing by 23 at half time they fought back for a last minute win but any gains there were given away to buyers of shirts and points and other derivative markets meaning it has been the worst weekend for a long time here in Dublin HQ. Christmas currently cancelled.
