Rain pain so we're off to Spain

Forget the picture postcard from Dundee. The weather isn’t quite so nice today and the planned preview tonight has been waterlogged off.

Dundee United’s Scottish Premiership clash with St Johnstone was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

An inspection on the Tannadice pitch carried out on Monday found the surface to be unplayable.

With hindsight, I wish the rain had come in quantity at Stamford Bridge yesterday as bookings were thin on the ground for our buy at 34. The make-up, of 30, was a relief in the end as it looked for a long time it could have been a whole lot worse.

There’s a match in La Liga tonight, kicking off at 9pm, and it might not be as easy for Real Sociedad against Elche as the pre-match odds suggest.

Certainly, Elche have a good H2H record against their rivals:

HEAD TO HEAD RECORDS
Aug 2013 Primera Liga Elche 1-1 Sociedad
Jun 2010 Segunda Elche 4-1 Sociedad
Jan 2010 Segunda Sociedad 0-1 Elche

Real Sociedad are enjoying a much better season though than their rivals who are hovering just over the relegation places.

However, they are struggling at home so far this year and will hope the return of Inigo Martinez from suspension will boost their chances.

The reverse fixture ended 1-1 and a small interest on Elche in the supremacy market with Star Spreads has to be the call given that we start with 1.1 in the bag.
