Chelsea v Everton. Blues + Blues = GOALS

Published On February 22, 2014 | By dominic | Star Spreads

Dundee United started my weekend with a smile last night with their comfortable 3-1 home win against an injury hit Motherwell. The Scottish project nicely ticked off with a profit of 13.5 with Star Spreads having bought supremacy at 0.65.

I’m an early bird today concentrating on the lunchtime kick off between Chelsea and Everton at Stamford Bridge (12.45pm, BT SPORT).

Mourinho still opens his mouth too much for my liking with his increasingly tedious ‘mind’ games. Wenger being a ‘specialist in failure’ and Barcelona ‘no where near the side they once were’ being his latest proclamations.

However, I can’t really accuse him of talking the talk and not walking the walk. Chelsea are top of the Premier League and a win at lunchtime would take them, even if just for a short period, four points clear.

Indeed, their FA Cup exit at the hands of Man City may prove to be a blessing in disguise as they can concentrate full on their title ambitions.

Standing in their way today are another set of Blues – Everton who have proved quite resilient for Chelsea to get past in recent seasons and also won the reverse leg at Goodison earlier this season:

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Max last 10 only)
Sep 2013 Premier Everton 1-0 Chelsea
May 2013 Premier Chelsea 2-1 Everton
Dec 2012 Premier Everton 1-2 Chelsea
Feb 2012 Premier Everton 2-0 Chelsea
Oct 2011 Carling Cup Everton 1-2 Chelsea
Oct 2011 Premier Chelsea 3-1 Everton
May 2011 Premier Everton 1-0 Chelsea
Feb 2011 FA Cup Chelsea 1-1 Everton
Jan 2011 FA Cup Everton 1-1 Chelsea
Dec 2010 Premier Chelsea 1-1 Everton

Everton have scored at least once in all of their last 13 matches against Chelsea but that has to be set against the fact that Chelsea are unbeaten in their last 18 Premier League home matches against Everton (W9, D9).

Chelsea also have the only unbeaten home run left in the Premier League this season and that doesn’t look in any danger today.

Think goals are highly likely. We need to get past 2.7 to get into profit.
