2000 Guineas Preview by Mark

Two ‘talking horses’ head the market for today’s Qipco 2000 Guineas in Kingman and Australia. The connections of the latter seem to be talking their horse up as much as possible (as usual from that yard) and the trainer of Kingman is trying to talk his horse down. At 7-4 he hasn’t done a great job of getting the jolly knocked out. Although the likeliest winner Kingman offers no value with Australia too short on the form book too.

War Command has been nicely backed over the last few days and it is easy to see why. Last years winner Dawn Approach won the Coventry and Dewhurst as a 2-y-o and went off 11-8 before winning. War Command won the same two races and is 7-1? Even at this shorter price he still appears to be value.

If you do fancy Kingman what is wrong with Night of Thunder at the prices? Although put in his place by Kingman at Newbury even another 4.5 L defeat could be enough to squeeze into the frame and he may well settle better than he did at Newbury too. 40-1 is simply too big.

Recommended bets:-
1pt e/w WAR COMMAND 7-1
0.5pt e/w NIGHT OF THUNDER 40-1
