S.P. Read Esq. Arsenal v Hull. (5pm ITV)
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq is back looking at the FA Cup Final between Arsenal and Hull (5pm ITV). Read notched up a profit from his buy of bookings on the Rotherham game on Thursday.
Saturday. 5pm (ITV). FA Cup Final day at Wembley and Arsenal certainly don’t believe in not tempting fate….. their victory coach has already been painted up and is ready for action at the depot.
They are rightly odds-on against Hull, after all they have beaten them comprehensively in both matches this season.
It’s a pressure match for Wenger, despite his insistence that the outcome of the match will have no impact on his future at the club.
Arsenal supporters have waited since 2005 for their next piece of silverware to enter the dusty trophy cabinet at the Emirates.
Hull have exceeded many peoples expectations this season by simply staying up. That though, is thanks to their early season form rather than their recent efforts which saw them drop to 16th in the table whereas Arsenal finished in fourth with a crucial Champions League spot secured.
By getting this far Hull have already secured a Europa League place and their manager Steve Bruce said: “We’re rank outsiders. Arsenal are clear favourites but for a club like ours to take on the mighty Arsenal has a ring to it which is what the FA Cup is all about.”
The stats don’t give Hull that much hope. They have scored just once in their last four clashes with Arsenal in all competitions.
