Our daily columnist and pundit S.P.Read Esq. notched up a profit of 84 points yesterday when both his bets obliged – a sell on the time of the first England and Italy goals. He has a bet with Star Spreads tonight on the France v Honduras (8pm) match……

That worked out well last night.

I sold the time of both the first England and the first Italy goal – both at 57 minutes and was rewarded with a profit on both bets when both teams scored in the first half.

Marchisio’s opener for Italy was timed at 35 minutes (profit 57-35 x 2 point stake = 44 points)

…. and then Sturridge equalised for England just two minutes later (profit 57-37 x 2 point stake = 40 points).

That puts me 54 points up on the World Cup so far.

Three more matches today and the focus is on Group E in which France are odds-on to win.

Champions in 1998 and 2006 finalists France have a great World Cup record, and could well be running into form at the right time for this year’s competition having only lost one of their 10 games this season.

It’s a first ever clash for France against Honduras who have failed to score in their last four World Cup games.

Again, it’s the time of the first goal market that appeals most, although given how ‘agricultural’ Honduras were when they played England I was also temped by buying the bookings market at the home of sports spread betting, Star Spreads.

France should gain a convincing opening win and I’m hoping their first goal arrives within the first 39 minutes to guarantee a profit.
