Welcome back !!!

The new Premier League season kicks off at Old Trafford at 12.45pm when Man U host Swansea in the live SKY match.

Will it be a case though of same old, same old?

The fixture list ‘computer’ (if you believe there actually is one !) has been kind to last seasons top four and this seasons ‘big five’.

Man U, Arsenal and Liverpool (Sunday) all look to have straightforward home games, whilst on Monday, Chelsea shouldn’t have too many worries away at Burnley. It’s just over 2/1 the acca and bookmakers worldwide will be praying on getting a result in just one of them to thwart it copping.

Man City have the hardest task on paper – but they are still odds on to win at Newcastle. Throw them in and the acca is up to over 4/1.

It’s a new era at Old Trafford and for their supporters it’s very much of wishing that the future is bright, the future is orange. After a dismal season (by their own standards) under beleaguered David Moyes we now see former Holland boss Louis van Gaal at the helm.

Friendlies are hard to evaluate and some punters pay no attention to them at all – but Man U come into this season on the back of some excellent pre-season results and will look to continue that momentum into the season proper.

For Swansea, they will no doubt be wanting to get this match out of the way. It’s the reverse of the opening game from last season which Man U won 4-1 at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea are not exactly the best starters having lost seven of their last eight opening day fixtures and only two draws from 11 league games is the best Swansea have offered at Old Trafford.
