S.P. Read Esq. Chelsea v Schalke
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P.Read Esq. looks at the 7.45pm Champions League game between CHELSEA v SCHALKE and finds the best opportunity available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Dreadful result last night in the Liverpool game.
I sold the time of the 2nd match goal – which incredibly didn’t arrive until 90 minutes so that was worse than useless.
More Champions League action tonight and don’t forget the Star Spreads special offer “£50 FOR EVERY GOAL” for new clients on the Bayern Munich v Manchester City game (see link on right hand side).
For the bet tonight I’m concentrating on matters slightly close to home at Stamford Bridge:
Chelsea v Schalke
Champions League
7.45pm LIVE ON SKY SPORTS 1
HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
Nov 2013 Champions League Chelsea 3-0 Schalke
Oct 2013 Champions League Schalke 0-3 Chelsea
Nov 2007 Champions League Schalke 0-0 Chelsea
Oct 2007 Champions League Chelsea 2-0 Schalke
Where others have faltered Chelsea have made an irresistible start to the new Premier League season and have now scored 15 goals in their last four matches.
As you can see from the head to head stats the German outfit Schalke have never caused Chelsea too many problems in the past with an aggregate of 8-0 to Chelsea over their four Champions League encounters.
Mourinho will also have one eye on the impending trip to the Etihad on Sunday for a Premier League clash against Man City but will be anxious for a win here in the first of the Group G games for Chelsea.
Didier Drogba, who scored Chelsea’s decisive penalty to win the Champions League over Bayern Munich in 2012, could well be available tonight after recovering from an ankle injury which kept him out of the side for their win over Swansea last week.
He could be joined by another Chelsea veteran Petr Cech who has been overlooked in favour of Thibaut Courtois in goal so far this season.
Mourinho bids to become the first manager to win the Champions League with three different clubs after Porto in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010.
It might be a dangerous strategy, and hopefully not a case of ‘once bitten, twice shy’ but I can’t see this being as cagey as Liverpool last night so will again have a go and sell the time of the second match goal at 57 minutes.
