Spurs started their Europa League Group C campaign with a 0-0 draw at Partizan Belgrade last month and this really is a match they need three points from if they have any ambitions in this tournament. ‘If’ very much being the operative word.
Mauricio Pochettino is without defender Danny Rose who picked up an injury against Arsenal on Saturday and striker Emmanuel Adebayor is likely to be replaced by either Harry Kane or Roberto Soldado as part of the rotation of players policy usually deployed by the manager.
Spurs are back in action on Sunday in the Premier League with an important fixture against the in-form Southampton.
Besiktas have only been beaten once so far this season whereas Spurs have made a stuttering start and have won just one of their last six games.
There are sound reasons for thinking Besiktas will be good enough to get something from this and therefore I am selling Spurs supremacy at around 0.75 with Star Spreads.
