Back to the Premier League on Sunday for the lunchtime Manchester derby at the Etihad.

It could well be a lively encounter and referee Michael Oliver looks likely to hand out more than the average of four yellows he has produced in his 10 games so far this season.

The teams are 3rd and 8th in the table respectively but City come into this on the back of two defeats. They were beaten 2-1 by West Ham and then dumped out of the Capital One Cup by a resurgent Newcastle.

This might well give hope to United fans as recent encounters have all been very much dominated by the blue half of Manchester.

City have won five of their last six league meetings with United.

United remain vulnerable – just 13 points so far and that’s is one fewer than at this stage last season when the alarm bells were ringing about Moyes. This is now their poorest start to a top-flight campaign since 1990.

United will be boosted by the return from suspension of Rooney and I think it could be close but I also think it will be lively for card action and I am a buyer on the Star Spreads bookings market.
