S.P.Read Esq: Liverpool v Arsenal

Published On December 21, 2014 | By S.P.Read Esq. | Star Spreads

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the 4pm Premier League game on Sunday between LIVERPOOL v ARSENAL and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadLiverpool v Arsenal is always a cracking game but it’s hard to think we are going to get a repeat of the 5-1 scoreline (it was all over almost before it all started) from last season from ‘new’ Liverpool.

Indeed, Arsenal will very much fancy getting something out of this, given they arrive on the back of two 4-1 wins. Against Newcastle in the Premier League and Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Arsenal are also doing better, so far this season and are five points in front of Liverpool from 16 matches.

Jan 2013 Premier Arsenal 2-2 Liverpool
Sep 2012 Premier Liverpool 0-2 Arsenal
Mar 2012 Premier Liverpool 1-2 Arsenal
Aug 2011 Premier Arsenal 0-2 Liverpool
Apr 2011 Premier Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool
Aug 2010 Premier Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal
Feb 2010 Premier Arsenal 1-0 Liverpool

I didn’t share Brendan Rodgers appraisal of his teams performance midweek when beating Bournemouth in the Capital One Cup.

Rodgers was eulogising after the match but for me it was much more a case of Bournemouth simply not getting the rub of the green and missing an absolute sitter early on which could have changed the whole complex of the match.

It was only Liverpool’s third win in their last 11 games in all competitions so it’s premature to talk of tides being turned.

Michael Oliver is averaging 42 points on the card front so far this season and in a highly charged match such as this it’s not unreasonable to suggest that could be higher – so I’m a buyer at 52.
