S.P.Read Esq: Leicester v Chelsea
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game tonight between LEICESTER v CHELSEA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
There’s not even the hype there should be at this stage of the season. Chelsea’s inevitable march to the title has been achieved methodically and clinically which is great credit to them but not much use for the neutrals wanting some fireworks at the end of the season.
They have simply being getting the job done. In the snooker parlance there’s been more safety play than attacking play and eight of their last 10 league games have featured under 2.5 goals.
But it’s all been about points and as Brucie once said: “Points make prizes”.
This match is far more important from Leicester’s perspective though rather than Chelsea’s who are in the luxurious position of knowing their 10 point lead over Man City and Arsenal will be preserved even with a loss tonight.
For Leicester, even a point tonight would be like gold-dust as they currently sit perilously one point clear of the drop zone currently occupied by Sunderland, QPR and Burnley.
Leicester boss Nigel Pearson has been quick to squash rumours that he might throw the towel in for this fixture by playing a weakened side in favour of Saturday’s tie (also at home) against Newcastle.
Pearson said: “A weakened side is being disrespectful to our squad of players. I’ve never picked a side which doesn’t have the integrity of any competition in mind.”
Leicester are certainly heading into battle tonight with momentum. They bid to claim five consecutive top-flight wins for the first time since 1964.
