Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to MAN U v MAN CITY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadAfter the headaches of (unsuccessfully) trying to solve the 40 runner Grand National yesterday things get easier today – or do they?

Looking at the Star Sports fixed odds prices on the Manchester derby it’s virtually take your pick of three.

I have a strong hunch though that United will win it. Momentum is an overused word in sport but in the context of today’s match is exactly the right word. United are finishing the season with a rattle and Man City look a team who have dropped their heads in recent weeks. They were particularly woeful against Crystal Palace last week.

The head to head stats below show you that the last four derbys have gone the way of the light blues but with United being so strong at home this season (winning 13 of their last 15 league home games) that could well prove to be the decisive factor.

Incredibly, City have lost five of their last seven games and now sit one point below United in the Premier League table.

United will be without the services of Robin van Persie following an ankle injury whilst Chris Smalling is doubtful because of illness. Luke Shaw is injured and Jonny Evans suspended.

Fot City, captain Vincent Kompany has a hamstring injury and remains doubtful.

Forward Wilfried Bony is sidelined by ankle and knee problems, while Dedryck Boyata and Stevan Jovetic will also miss out.
