S.P.Read Esq: Newcastle v Spurs

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League match on Sunday on SKY between NEWCASTLE v SPURS and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadWhen Newcastle last met Spurs in December they were on the end of a 4-0 battering in the Capital One Cup and given current form it’s hard to see the Magpies getting any joy out of today’s game at St James’ Park.

Newcastle are on a wretched run of form with five consecutive defeats putting pressure on manager John Carver and the attendance will be interesting – given the talk of a supporters boycott !! Only QPR have a worse form record since the turn of the year.

Newcastle will be re-united with captain Fabricio Coloccini after suspension but Moussa Sissoko and Papiss Cisse are still banned.

Siem de Jong could be involved for the first time since he suffered a collapsed lung in August.

Spurs will assess Hugo Lloris and Kyle Walker, who are nursing knee and foot problems respectively whilst Jan Vertonghen will also be monitored following an illness.

Spurs might well be able to take all three points here – it’s not usually a fixture that ends up all-square. There have only been three draws in the last 35 league matches between the sides.
