Dnipro and Sevilla are the last two teams standing in this year’s Europa League being staged at the National Stadium Warsaw tonight and refereed by Englishman Martin Atkinson.
At stake is not only the trophy but qualification for the 2015/16 UEFA Champions League group stage.
Sevilla are the defending champions after a penalty shootout win over Benfica last season. They have a remarkable record in this tournament and are bidding for their fourth win in just 10 years – they won it back to back in 2006 and 2007 and would become the first team to lift the trophy four times.
Dnipro coach Myron Markevych said: “I’d be lying if I said the players weren’t nervous. But it’s important they forget those nerves. I did not imagine we’d get this far, but your appetite grows once you start eating.” Tell me about it….
