Wembley play host to three days of play-off finals starting today with Southend v Wycombe who battle it out for a place in League One.
Wycombe are marginally second favourites despite beating Southend by an aggregate of 6-3 in their two regular season games.
Both sides narrowly missed out on automatic promotion spots and they were only split by goal difference at the end of the season.
Southend will be without defender Adam Thompson who has a dislocated shoulder and boss Phil Brown is expected to name the same side as the one that beat Stevenage in the semi-final. He said: “After 10 months of the season and having every person fit apart from one lad, it’s amazing and surprising. I think the team is 90% selected as the consistency levels of the players have been great this season, although it is a little unfair on the lads who haven’t been able to get in.”
Wycombe are likely to be without regular goalkeeper Matt Ingram who missed both semi-final legs with a knee injury but will be boosted with the news that striker Steven Craig has recovered from a hamstring injury.
Both sides arrive at Wembley in good form. Southend have lost only one of their last 11 games and Wycombe have lost only one of their seven.
