S.P.Read Esq: USA Women v Japan Women
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Women’s World Cup final on Sunday (midnight BBC2) between USA WOMEN v JAPAN WOMEN and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Even allowing for home support many thought England were far superior than holders Japan in the semi-finals of the Women’s World Cup. Japan needed a huge dollop of fortune to progress thanks to England’s own goal in the dying minutes of normal time.

The USA gained their revenge over Japan in London when they struck gold winning the final 2-1.
The USA are certainly no strangers to World Cup success, winning this event in 1991 and 1999 and are now bidding to become the first country to lift the trophy three times.
USA have only conceded one goal in the six matches played so far in Canada and I just reckon they are the best side going into tonight’s final which will be played out in front of a crowd of more than 53,000 at the BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
Carli Lloyd, who missed a penalty in the 2011 World Cup final but scored both goals in the Americans’ 2-1 Olympic win in 2012 said: “Our confidence is growing, it grew against China and Germany and now it’s no regrets, full throttle. We know what’s at stake and have to play our best. We’ll be able to weather the storm, we’ve got fresh legs and are physically fit.”
