Couldn’t have got Man U v Newcastle much more wrong yesterday. A 0-0 draw certainly wasn’t anywhere on my radar.
Back to the Premier League on Sunday to see if Man City can maintain their unbeaten record. If not, Liverpool will get the chance to become the only team with a 100% start to the season on Monday when they face Arsenal at the Emirates.
Man City travel to Goodison which hasn’t always been a happy hunting ground for the light blues with just one win from their last six trips.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez: “Every time we play Man City we usually have great games – I expect Sunday to be no different. They are a very good side. We have seen a team that is fully refreshed, who have added faces but kept their title-winning core. The Southampton game has given us a feel-good factor and shown what we can do. The performance showed a level needed to win games.”
Both sides are scoring plenty of goals (11 between them) so we should be in for quite a lively contest. But Everton have been strong in defence at home – keeping six clean sheets in their last 10 Premier League home matches. One thing Man City don’t do though is 0-0 draws. They’ve now played 53 Premier League games without a 0-0 – more than any other team.
Everton looked good in their opening 3-0 defeat of Southampton and came from behind twice against Watford to earn a 2-2 draw.

I’m expecting Man City to continue their excellent start to the season and am hoping they are again hungry for goals. 3.1 is quite a high starting point on total goals but hopefully we can see that level breached to get into profit on Star Spreads.
