S.P.Read Esq: Arsenal v Olympiakos

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the 7.45pm kick off in the Champions League on Tuesday between ARSENAL v OLYMPIAKOS and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadOne minute out with the time of the first Everton goal last night !!! I sold with Star Spreads at 54 and it arrived on 55 minutes. Still, I’ve had far worse losing bets.

It’s a BT bonanza tonight with all eight Champions League games covered live on BT SPORT.

And it’s not a bad Tuesday night menu either…

SPECIALS

Star Spreads have again come up with a host of specials markets around tonight’s eight games and the performance of the four English clubs this week.

I’m particularly keen on a BUY of “At Least 3 English Wins” at 36. The market makes up at 100 should that happen, or ZERO if it doesn’t, so build this into your staking. I will be buying this on the expectation that both Arsenal and Chelsea oblige tonight.

I’m also tempted to SELL “Red Card – Yes” on tonight’s eight games. The downside is limited, selling at 82, on a market that again will make up at 100 should a red be brandished in any game.

I’m heading to the Emirates for the visit of Olympiakos and I wonder if the Greek champions are superstitious ? They might well need to latch onto the ’13th time lucky’ angle as they have been beaten in their 12 previous matches on English soil and face an Arsenal side who knocked five past Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday.

Interestingly though, they have met six times previously in the Champions League and on each time the home side has won.

Arsenal will be without midfielders Mathieu Flamini (hamstring) and Mikel Arteta (dead leg) whilst forward Olivier Giroud serves his one-match ban following the red card in Arsenal’s opening defeat at the hands of Dinamo Zagreb. Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Tomas Rosicky all remain out.

Olympiakos midfielder Luka Milivojevic is suspended and defender Manuel da Costa is also out with a knee injury.

Wenger is hoping that his sides Premier League form will transfer over to the Champions League: “You have to win your home games if you want to qualify from the group stage. It’s as simple as that. We can’t afford to drop points against anybody at home. We are in a position where we have to win our games and I am confident we will.”

Olympiakos are such bad travellers that Arsenal should gain the home win and I’m selling the time of the first Arsenal goal at 40 minutes with Star Spreads. One of three trades tonight.
