S.P.Read Esq: Gibraltar v Republic of Ireland. Cricket score beckons…..

Published On September 4, 2015 | By S.P.Read Esq. | S.P.Read Esq

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Euro 2016 qualifier tonight between GIBRALTAR v REPUBLIC OF IRELAND and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadExcuse the pun, but I really am stuck between a rock and a hard place for a bet on the Gibraltar v Ireland Euro 2016 Qualifier tonight (7.45pm, SKY).

Gibraltar are shipping goals at an alarming rate in this competition – 34 goals in six games including a 7-0 defeat in the reverse fixture of this match in Dublin in October – it was 3-0 after just 18 minutes.

There’s no reason to think it might not be a cricket score again tonight, especially as the Republic must win and then take another three points against Georgia at the Aviva Stadium on Monday to retain any hopes of progressing to the finals in France.

Poland currently lead Group D on 14 points, with Germany on 13, Scotland on 11 and the Republic two points further adrift. The Georgia v Scotland result will already be known by the time this match is played as it is a 5pm kick off.

Robbie Keane, Ireland’s record goal-scorer is expected to start and he’s knocking goals in for fun at the moment with 12 goals in his last eight LA Galaxy games.

I’m a buyer of goals at around 5.35 on Star Spreads. It sounds a high starting point but remember that they are against a Gibraltar side who have conceded an average of 5.66 goals per game.
