S.P.Read Esq: Bury v Morecambe

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the 7.45pm kick off in the JPT Trophy on Tuesday between BURY v MORECAMBE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadWhat’s it all about (Alfie?)….

For the second night running there is no live football on the TV (OK, there was an obscure Bundesliga match last night but that doesn’t count) and that can only mean one thing….

ANOTHER INTERNATIONAL BREAK

[HISS, BOOOOOOO]

Well I’m not going to let the lack of live action get in the way – I’ll watch the scores coming through on Ceefax if I have to !!

It’s to the heady heights of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy I travel and a bet on the Northern 2nd Round match between Bury and Morecambe – a League 1 v League 2 clash.

HEAD TO HEAD RECORD
(Maximum 10 matches)
Apr 2015 LEAGUE TWO Bury 1-2 Morecambe
Nov 2014 LEAGUE TWO Morecambe 1-0 Bury
Oct 2014 JP TROPHY Bury 3-1 Morecambe
May 2014 LEAGUE TWO Morecambe 0-0 Bury
Oct 2013 LEAGUE TWO Bury 0-2 Morecambe
Mar 2011 LEAGUE TWO Bury 1-0 Morecambe
Sep 2010 LEAGUE TWO Morecambe 1-4 Bury
Feb 2010 LEAGUE TWO Bury 0-0 Morecambe
Dec 2009 LEAGUE TWO Morecambe 3-0 Bury
Mar 2009 LEAGUE TWO Morecambe 0-0 Bury

Morecambe did the double over Bury when they were both in League 2 last season but came unstuck in this tournament last year when Bury ran out 3-1 winners and were 2-0 up at half-time.

Bury look worthy favourites tonight judged on recent form. They are on a superb run of seven wins in a row (six of which in the league) which has lifted them to third spot in the table.

Morecambe are in mid-division in League Two but have lost three of their last four games, conceding 11 goals in the process.

Of course the danger is how seriously Bury take this competition but surely they will want to maintain their winning form and if you are a (dare I mention the word?) MOMENTUM punter – then there can only be one bet.

Add to that the fact that Bury manager David Flitcroft doesn’t have the luxury of rotating his squad too much as simply he doesn’t have enough fit players – he couldn’t even name enough substitutes on Saturday!

A big profit with the sell of the second match goal on Sunday at the Emirates and I’m keeping things simple tonight with a BUY of Bury supremacy at 0.95 with Star Spreads.
