S.P.Read Esq: England v France
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the friendly on Tuesday evening between ENGLAND v FRANCE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Prior to the tragic and horrific events that unfolded in Paris on Friday, tonight’s friendly between England and France was of little significance.
Tonight, the match has even less significance from a football perspective but a much greater, emotional poignancy as the two nations stand together in unity and support. It is a friendly in every sense of the word.
The match will be played out amidst the tightest security ever seen for a British sporting event – but the important thing is it will be played out and the French side were united in the belief that they wanted the game to go ahead.
The FA is now expecting a near-full house at the 90,000-capacity stadium, with thousands of tickets sold since the attacks.
England manager Roy Hodgson said: “I can’t deny there’s something hanging over which is far, far greater than a football match. That will be lingering whether we like it or not. I’ve never been in a football game like this before.”
With both teams safely qualified (France by virtue of being hosts) for Euro 2016 and in the middle of domestic campaigns this could easily be played out more like a training game.
France have taken their friendlies seriously, winning their last five games which included Friday’s 2-0 victory over Germany on the ill-fated night.

Given the unique nature of the game, making a prediction for what will happen on the pitch is very tricky. I can’t see France losing and think they will leave Wembley with at least one goal. I am selling the time of the first French goal.
