S.P.Read Esq: Maidenhead United v Port Vale

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the FA CUP replay on Thursday evening between MAIDENHEAD UNITED v PORT VALE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadA 90th minute equaliser has forced the replay, much to the chagrin of Port Vale manager Rob Page who accused his players of arrogance for not getting the job done at Vale Park.

The 1-1 final score certainly didn’t reflect a game in which Port Vale had eight shots on target compared to Maidenhead’s one.

Maidenhead now have the opportunity to reach the second round of the FA Cup for the first time in their history – both sides are battling it out for the right to meet Exeter in round two at St James’ Park.

Maidenhead’s manager Alan Devonshire is expected to name an unchanged side

Rob Page will monitor Ben Purkiss, who missed last Saturday’s win at Barnsley with a back problem and must decide whether to retain Ajay Leitch-Smith and Louis Dodds up front or recall Uche Ikpeazu.

League One Port Vale are likely to come out of the traps strongly and should make their class show tonight against National League South side Maidenhead in front of a sell-out crowd at York Road. No joy last night with the sell of the third match goal but I’ll try again in the expectation of some early goals.
