S.P.Read Esq: Everton v Man City
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Capital One Cup game on Wednesday between EVERTON v MAN CITY and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Both teams are scoring goals for fun this season but as we often see in these cases it can lead to them both cancelling each other out.
In the Premier League Man City have scored 39 goals and Everton 36 but there are 12 points between the two sides. Lukaku for the hosts and Toure for the visitors are very much the in-form players when it comes to goals.
It’s the first leg so you’d have to think that Everton need to get something to take back to the Etihad but the last time they met at Goodison it was Man City who ran out 2-0 winners. City have now won four of the past five head to heads with the other match drawn.
The Toffees have never won the League Cup but reached the final in 1977 and 1984 whereas City have lifted the trophy in 1970, 1976 and in 2014 where they came from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1.
Everton have a stand-in keeper with Joel Robles replacing Tim Howard. They are also likely to be without captain Phil Jagielka (knee) and midfielder Steven Pienaar (hamstring).
Sergio Aguero has struggled with injuries so far this seasonn but is expected to start.
The big problem for Everton is that their home form has generally been disappointing this season – winning just three of their 11 league games at Goodison and conceding 20 goals in the process.
