S.P.Read Esq: Leicester v Spurs

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the FA Cup game on Wednesday between LEICESTER v SPURS and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThe day of the week must have a ‘y’ in it….. Leicester are playing Spurs for the third time in just 10 days.

We’ve already had:

LEICESTER WIN
DRAW

Surely not a Spurs win tonight !!! It would certainly be a catalyst to the belief that predicting football matches is a tough job – three different outcomes in three successive matches in the same month. Guinness Book Of Records are you watching?

Whatever the result tonight, there’s no doubt that Leicester won the one that really mattered – the Premier League clash at White Hart Lane thanks to Robert Huth’s 83rd minute winner which was enough to ensure that the Leicester fairytale this season has by no means reached the final chapter.

Au contraire. Leicester are third favourites to win the title (and still a little overpriced too in my opinion) behind Man City and Arsenal and are currently joint leaders with the Gunners.

Spurs are going well themselves but the Leicester defeat was a real body blow to them in terms of their own title aspirations and it might well be that Leicester have broken them, for the time being at least.

Of course, as always with the FA Cup, a lot will come down to how much each team ‘wants it’ tonight. The replay certainly couldn’t be considered good news for either team ahead of a weekend when Leicester play Stoke on Saturday and Spurs are away to Crystal Palace. Certainly, you would assume there will be a mutual appetite for getting it done and dusted inside 90 minutes.

Both managers are expected to rotate their squads.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “We have players in a condition where it’s a big risk to play. Always we assess the players and maybe we take a decision to rest some players. It is a good challenge as they play with a different team in the FA Cup, 10 players different from in the Premier League. We have a good chance to go to the next round and the FA Cup is important for us.”
