S.P.Read Esq: Man Utd v Sheffield United

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the FA Cup game on Saturday between MAN U v SHEFFIELD UNITED and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadBig day of FA Cup third round action and the late live game comes from Old Trafford with Man U hosting Sheffield United. We’re only one match into this week’s ties and have already seen a shock (of sorts) with Exeter drawing 2-2 with Liverpool on Friday evening.

Here are two teams with a rich history of head to heads but not so much recently with Sheffield United now confined to League One. Pretty hard to believe that in 2007 they were both playing in the Premiership.

Sheffield United come here on the back of four wins from their last fives games and three of those victories have been by 1-0 margins.

Cliché time but this is really Sheffield United’s cup final and they are sure to give it their all. Landing a tie at Old Trafford is like Willy Wonka giving you a golden ticket and if nothing else the fixture will be a huge financial boost to the side.

The players will want to make it more than that though and Man United are vulnerable at home having won just one of their last five matches and the Blades are a side with a good cup record, winning five of their last six ties against higher-ranked opponents.

A lot will come down to the strength of side that Louis Van Gaal elects to play but he will be without Adnan Januzaj who is short of match fitness. Phil Jones is also out because of an ankle injury, Ashley Young is likely to be rested but Jesse Lingard is available after a hamstring complaint.

Sheffield United may be re-united with forward Matt Done after his recent hamstring injury.

Bookings looks a tempting enough buy at 28 with Star Spreads. I was one yellow short of a profit in the Wigan v Gillingham game and can hopefully get it over the line today.
