S.P.Read Esq: Man City v Leicester

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Saturday between MAN CITY v LEICESTER and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadStating the bleeding obvious but Leicester’s title price will go dramatically one way or the other after the 12.45pm game against Man City on Saturday if it finishes anything other than a DRAW.

It’s by no means a title decider but it is a match with huge consequences – more for Man City than Leicester.

The hosts could find themselves six points adrift of Leicester if the Foxes manage to do what they’ve been doing all season – defying gravity by winning games even when they have failed to dominate possession which has seen their title odds drop to a best priced 5/1. Even some of the previous cynics are starting to think the impossible.

Whatever happens from this point onwards, Leicester are in the clubhouse with the performance of the season award in the bag. They have now lost just one of their last 18 away games and held Man City 0-0 in the reverse fixture in December.

Man City are far from infallible at home with League defeats this season against West Ham and Liverpool but are currently on an unbeaten run of seven games including Capital One and FA Cup matches.

Leicester’s manager Claudio Ranieri said: “Man City have too many dangerous players. You can play a perfect match but they’ll win because they have magicians. It’s an open game as they want to win. We want to win too, so it’s open. Both teams want to win, so maybe it’ll be a draw!”

Man City will be without winger Jesus Navas who has been ruled out for at least three weeks with a hamstring injury. He joins Kevin De Bruyne, Vincent Kompany, Samir Nasri, Eliaguim Mangala and Wilfried Bony on the current injury list.

Ranieri has fewer headaches and will make a late call on using new signing Daniel Amartey.

I’m thinking Ranieri might be right and this could end up all square – but it could also be low scoring as it was when they met in December.

I prefer a look at the bookings market and I’m a buyer at 44 with Star Spreads. There were four yellows when they last met and today’s ref Anthony Taylor is averaging 36 points this season so hopefully limited downside in what should prove a blood and thunder affair.
