S.P.Read Esq: Man City v Man U

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the Premier League game on Sunday between MAN CITY v MAN U and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

The Manchester derby was always certain to guarantee goals, until of course the dreaded 0-0 came along in the reverse fixture at Old Trafford in October to snap that statistic. It wasn’t just a 0-0 either – it was a dreadfully poor 0-0.

This afternoon’s encounter at the the Etihad might well have a more subdued atmosphere than normalm simply because of the relative league positions.

Man City are now 15 points adrift of Leicester and Man U a further four points behind Man City.

Of course there’re still bragging rights and Europe places to resolve but it’s amazing to think a game between these two in March will have seemingly so little impact on the Premier League title race.

Man U manager Louis van Gaal said: “I hope City is the catalyst. We have to beat City and we have a chance to still qualify for the Champions League.”

City are favourites on account of then being at home and United being so poor away from home this season. They have taken just one point from a possible nine in their last three away games, losing to both Sunderland and West Brom.

This is City’s worst season at this stage for seven years with 51 points after 19 games. They will be without captain Vincent Kompany, who suffered a recurrence of a calf injury against Dynamo Kiev in midweek.

For Man U both Ashley Young and Cameron Borthwick-Jackson have both returned to training after injury and could feature.

I was looking at bookings but that looks a little high for me – buying at 60.

I’m switching to corners with a buy at 10.75. There should be a few chances, if not goals, and the corners is always a good Star Spreads option when you think this way.
