S.P.Read Esq: Aintree Day Two

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to the second day of AINTREE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

It certainly doesn’t do much harm when you’re a distances buyer and you get a horse scooting home by 41 lengths !!!

That was the case yesterday when the Willie Mullins trained Apple’s Jade comprehensively turned around Cheltenham Triumph Hurdle form with Ivanovich Gorbatov in the juvenile hurdle.

We don’t get the full 41 lengths though as distances in National Hunt races are capped at a maximum of 30 lengths per race but even so…..

The make-up was 74 lengths across the seven race card !!

Star Spreads have (temptingly) nudged up the quote by just a point on today’s card. In fairness, it does look more competitive but a quote of 34-38 gets me involved as a buyer again.

I’m not sure we’ll get much from the trappy opener but that could easily be offset by the Mullins trained hotpots Limini and Vautour (in particular) later on in the afternoon.

The Topham Chase over the National fences is hopefully another race that will pan out kindly for distance buyers needing an average of 5.4 lengths today per race to show a profit.
