S.P.Read Esq: Arsenal v WBA

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Thursday’s Premier League match at 7.45pm between ARSENAL v WBA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

Shock horror. In this most unpredictable of seasons, the three matches last night in the Premier League actually ran to form with home wins for Liverpool, Man U and West Ham.

It’s the week that keeps on giving for Premier League action and tonight the Sky cameras are at the Emirates for Arsenal v West Brom which looks, on paper, like being another home banker.

In fairness to West Brom they did beat the Gunners 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in November but at home Arsenal have won 8 of their 10 previous meetings.

Although the title has slipped them buy – Arsenal still have plenty of work to do in order to secure third place – so there should be no let up. A win tonight will lift them back above Man City who were a little lacklustre for my money against Newcastle on Tuesday.

Arsenal’s manager Arsene Wenger said: “The season is far from over. It depends on who you play and the commitment you face.”

“Against West Ham and Crystal Palace we were not efficient enough. That is a regret. It’s my job to get the team 100% ready.”

“Every time it doesn’t work you question yourself, it is part of the job. In the end it is always down to me and I stand up to that.”

In contrast, West Brom have zilch left to play for this season having already reached the so called ‘magical’ 40 points.

West Brom head coach Tony Pulis said: “We get to go to these football grounds and play against great players, great football teams, at great stadiums. You relish it, you shouldn’t be nervous or worried about it. We’ve got the points to keep us in the Premier League, so we should really look forward to these games.”
