There’s not much to add to the story of all stories except that their win has been throughly deserved in a season of abject failure from their higher profile rivals. And that in no way is meant to diminish what they have achieved.

Yet again, Spurs came up short when it really mattered – although I was quite happy to see four goals go in last night to land the recommended over 3.5 goals bet with Star Sports – two decent wins in a row now for 60 points profit – the pressure is on tonight !!

Champions League action tonight and tomorrow with the semi-final 2nd legs and first up tonight is Bayern Munich v Atletico Madrid at the Allianz Arena.

The match is delicately poised at 1-0 to Atletico but Bayern are usually a different side at home. They have won 22 of their last 24 home games and should not only be able to win – but I fully expect them to qualify for the final.

As five-time European champions Bayern have a wealth of experience to call on against an Atletico side trying to win for the first time.

Atletico coach Diego Simeone is insistent that his side will not sit back and try and preserve their 1-0 first leg lead.

He said: “We are going to be true to our style. We will be ourselves. Whatever happens will depend on the mental strength of both teams. In the first leg we played in a way that feels good for us. On Tuesday we will see how strong both Bayern and we are.”
