S.P.Read Esq: Man U v Leicester

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Premier League game at 2.05pm between MAN U v LEICESTER and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

In this most ridiculous of ridiculous seasons just how ridiculous would it be for Leicester to crown themselves Champions, in style, at Old Trafford this afternoon?

If they do it – what about 1-0 as a scoreline – that has pretty much become Leicester’s trademark win in this most astonishing of seasons.

As we saw earlier with Liverpool the formbook pretty much goes out of the window at this stage of the season but the formbook is pretty favourable to Leicester in any case.

It finished 1-1 at the King Power Stadium in November and remember the memorable 5-3 scoreline in Leicester’s favour in 2014 when Man U led 2-1 at halftime? In those days it was little old Leicester pulling off a fluke win.

Certainly, Man U at a shade of odds-on makes little appeal although their defence is strong at Old Trafford. The hosts have kept clean sheets now in ten of their last 14 league home matches.

If they do pull off the fairytale result Leicester will need to do it without striker Jamie Vardy, who serves an additional one-match ban for his angry reaction to being sent off against West Ham. Vardy has been so much part of the Leicester success story that this really has to temper confidence in the Foxes.

Man U’s manager Louis van Gaal said: “I think we have to beat them because we are still in the race for fourth position. We cannot allow that they are the champions this weekend at Old Trafford. I think they shall be the champions a week later. We don’t spoil the party, only postpone it a little bit.”
