S.P.Read Esq: Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Saturday’s Champions League Final at 7.45pm between REAL MADRID v ATLETICO MADRID and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

It’s an all Spanish affair in Italy for the Champions League Final with Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid on Saturday.

It’s hard to imagine it will be a goal-fest – there’s only been four goals in their latest four confrontations and with so much at stake the tourney could come down to a single moment of brilliance or error.

It’s also a replay of the 2014 final which saw Real Madrid win 4-1 but even that game was tight at full time (1-1) with Real Madrid exerting their class to win in extra time. It was only an injury time header from Real Madrid that kept them in the game with Atletico seconds away from lifting their first Champions League Trophy.

Real Madrid finished two points clear of Atletico in La Liga this season but, in truth, the pair are so hard to split which is reflected in the odds.

I just have a feeling that Atletico may well be able to take their revenge. There are continued fitness doubts about Cristiano Ronaldo which are sure to have a negative impact on Real Madrid’s strength.

Atletico manager Diego Simeone needs the Champions League Trophy to complete the set having won the Europa League and UEFA Super Cup in 2012, the Copa del Rey in 2013 plus La Liga and the Spanish Super Cup in 2014.

Real are bidding for their 11th European crown but may get frustrated against an Atletico side who have been exceptional in defence this season – keeping a staggering 35 clean sheets over the course of the season and equalling La Liga’s record by conceding only 18 goals in their 38 games.
