S.P.Read Esq: Germany v Ukraine (Euro 2016 Sunday)

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Euro 2016 action and the 8pm match between GERMANY v UKRAINE and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

Big tournament specialists and reigning World Cup holders Germany start out on their Euro 2016 campaign with a clash against the Ukraine in Group C at 8pm on Sunday.

Germany are odds-on but it’s worth remembering that, as the head to head stats show below, there have been three draws from their previous five encounters.

Couple that with the fact that Germany have a host of injury worries and haven’t been playing their best football leading into this and there could be value elsewhere.

The Germans lost to both England and Slovakia in friendlies and Poland and Republic Of Ireland in qualifying.

Ukraine manager Mykhaylo Fomenko said: “There are no weak opponents at the EURO finals and the opening game against the world champions will be double motivation for our players to perform. The first match will set the tone for our EURO. It’s a very important event for our country and our fans.”
