S.P. Read Esq: Celtic v Leicester
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Saturday’s friendly between CELTIC v LEICESTER and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
Leicester play Celtic on Saturday for, not surprisingly, the first time ever in the history of the world.
It’s a clash of the entirely unexpected champions against the entirely expected champions in a match that, like all friendlies, should be treated with utter caution in terms of punting.
But IT IS a live match on Sky for the die-hards who have been starved of action since the Euro 2016 tournament fizzled out.

For Leicester, this season will all be about whether lightning strikes twice. Highly unlikely if the odds are to be believed – 30/1 for a repeat win with Star Sports fixed odds.
Celtic are long odds-on to retain their Scottish title which should at least be a little more interesting this season with the return of Glasgow Rangers to the top flight.
If there is value here, it might be with Celtic who are likely to be a little more race fit as they are already in competitive mode having recently beaten the mighty Lincoln Red Imps 3-1 over two legs in the Champions League Qualifying Round. Plenty of egg on Brendan Rodgers face after the first leg which saw them 1-0 adrift but the Hoops turned things around at home.
They also have advantage of playing at Celtic Park on Saturday. It’s unlikely that many Leicester fans will want to make the long pilgrimage north for a match that’s on TV and it’s only the lower tier of the stadium that will be opened up.
Leicester are playing for the first time since their 1-1 draw with Chelsea on the final day of the season – and in horse racing parlance may well be ‘in need of the run’.
