S.P. Read Esq: Sunderland v Middlesbrough

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Sunday’s Premier League 1.30pm clash between SUNDERLAND v MIDDLESBROUGH and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThe North East Premier League derby has a new look this season…. Newcastle are missing !!

It’s a Wear-Tees clash at the Stadium of Light with the visitors attempting to build on what they achieved last year having gained an automatic promotion spot to the Premier League.

Boro made a solid enough start to life back in the top flight with an opening day 1-1 draw with Stoke whilst Sunderland were unlucky to come away from the Etihad without a point having conceded an own goal in the 87th minute against Man City.

Boro boss Aitor Karanka had a bit of a wobble last year when he walked out for a short period after a spat but has done really well with the side who I think look good to remain in the top flight this season.

Karanka said: “Last week was good because some players showed they are better than I thought.

“It was a pleasant surprise as I knew how good they are and were in the past, and working since the beginning of pre-season has been good.

“It’s a derby, but it’s three points for us, and we don’t have a lot of experience in these games.”
