S.P. Read Esq: Sunderland v Everton

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Monday’s Premier League match between SUNDERLAND v EVERTON and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadThe Pantomime season has arrived early for punters.

Djokovic beaten in the tennis, Barcelona beaten at home in La Liga and Order Of St George turned over at 1/7 at the Curragh yesterday. I’m beginning to think even Sunderland could win tonight 😉

The Stadium Of Light play host to the visit of Everton as Monday Night Football returns to SKY at 8pm.

Everton have started the new season strongly with a draw against Spurs on the opening day of the season and then wins against West Brom and Stoke.

For Sunderland, their annual relegation battle seems to have started early. They have suffered defeats at the hands of Man City and neighbours Middlesbrough but steadied the ship a little with a 1-1 draw against Southampton last time.

I’m not sure the meetings last year between this pair tell us much apart from expect goals. Sunderland won the corresponding fixture 3-0 (to guarantee survival for them) but earlier Everton beat the Black Cats 6-2 at Goodison !

Sunderland boss David Moyes knows a thing two about Everton and said: “I see something similar between the clubs, but I don’t want to be banging the drum every day saying ‘Everton this, Everton that’.

“I’m only using it as an example to say if we can follow that route, we will not be far away. That will come from getting the recruitment right, and getting an understanding of the players we need to bring to the club.

“I’m hoping we can get that over the coming windows.”

Both the televised games yesterday finished up a Desmond (2-2) and I could see a similar scoreline here.

The bookings market makes appeal again though. I just missed out at Old Trafford with a make-up of 60 having bought at 63 but the bar is set lower tonight at 41 and Star Spreads also have a Brucie Bonus (see below).

Mike Jones has gone card crazy in his two matches so far so I’m confident the target will be hit.
