S.P. Read Esq: Italy v Spain

Published On October 6, 2016 | By S.P.Read Esq. | S.P.Read Esq

Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Thursday’s World Cup Qualifier between ITALY v SPAIN and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.

SPreadWales and Ireland are both in action tonight but it looks as though ITV4 have bagged the best match with the Italy v Spain World Cup Qualifier.

Italy won their most recent encounter with Spain 2-0 in this year’s Euros, but before that there was a draw and a win for Spain so take your pick tonight!

The Italians have suffered a major blow with the news that their key defender Giorgio Chiellini will miss the match as he is suspended after the red card handed out in their win against Israel – a match where the Italians were a long way from their best.

Daniele Rugani is injured whilst Milan’s Alessio Romagnoli is still trying to get back to full fitness. Italian manager Giampiero Ventura has plenty to think about ahead of what is only his second competitive game at the helm.

The team news favours Spain much more and their squad will revolve around striker Diego Costa and the defensive duo of Sergio Ramos and Gerard Pique.

The Spanish side look stronger to me and might be able to pull off the win at the Juventus Stadium and gain some compensation for their defeat earlier in the year.

It’s hard to imagine there will be too many goals so I’m going to switch to bookings and a buy with Star Spreads at 44. It should be a feisty encounter and I can see the referee having plenty to keep his eye on.
