SPreadHigh noon at the Emirates for the North London derby which kicks off a fantastic Sunday of football.

Arsenal get the chance to go to the top of the table after Chelsea overtook Man City last night thanks to their destruction of Everton and Man City conceding to Middlesbrough in injury time.

Both head to heads finished up a draw last season and anyone expecting a flood of cards today might just want to temper enthusiasm with the fact that there was just one yellow card handed out by Martin Atkinson last season at White Hart Lane. It’s a pretty safe bet that Mark Clattenburg is likely to exceed that today.

Whilst both sides have started the season well – it’s Arsenal’s record that stands up strongest. After their dramatic season opening 4-3 loss to Liverpool – the Gunners have not looked back with a 0-0 draw against Middlesbrough (who should have won the game) the only blip.

I’m wary that Spurs are running out of steam despite them still being unbeaten in the Premier League. They haven’t won now in six games and suffered losses against Liverpool in the EFL Cup and Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League – even allowing for the fact that their focus may have been on today it was still a lacklustre performance.

Harry Kane is likely be back after his ankle injury but lacks match fitness. Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “Always it is important to have Harry Kane. In the last few seasons he has been very important for us.

“He was top scorer in the Premier League [last season] and always the player who is top scorer in the Premier League is important for any club.

“It is true he has a good record against Arsenal. It is important he is back and can help the team get a good result.”
