The Premier League is 25 years old today and have they missed an opportunity by not holding over one of the weekend games until tonight to celebrate the landmark?

Liverpool will be on the look out for goals tonight too as they bid to reach the Group Stage of the lucrative Champions League.

They face a tricky trip to Hoffenheim who were unbeaten at home last season and are making their Champions League debut.

The young side continue to impress under coach Julian Nagelsmann and face a Liverpool side who didn’t exactly get off to a flying start against Watford at the weekend. They fell behind after just eight minutes, got themselves 3-2 in front after 57 minutes but then conceded a last minute goal for the draw.

Of tonight’s match Jurgen Klopp said: “For three months we have been looking forward to this game.”

“We are here, in a good mood, looking forward to the game but aware of the qualities of the opposition and the difficulty of the game.

“But it is just good to be here and to have the chance even though we know it is really hard.”

Liverpool will again be without forward Philippe Coutinho.

Both sides score goals for fun but it might be a case of cancelling each other out with so much at stake and as a two-legged affair it could get very tactical.

As such, I am selling total goals at 2.8 with Star Spreads.
