S.P. Read Esq: Leicester City v WBA
Our daily columnist and pundit S.P. Read Esq. looks ahead to Monday’s Premier League game between LEICESTER CITY v WBA and finds the best opportunities available on Star Spreads, the home of sports spread betting.
We head to the King Power Stadium for the final match of the ‘weekend’ with Leicester playing host to West Brom on Monday Night Football at 8pm.
Leicester’s title win in 2016 seems a dream now (it did at the time in fairness too!) and even at this early stage of the season look vulnerable for the drop.
Just five points from seven games can only be excused on the basis that they have had a tough set of fixtures to start the season with trips to Arsenal and Man U and a home tie against Chelsea.
This has to be seen as an essential match to win though for Craig Shakespeare’s men who face his former side West Brom who got off to a great start with wins over Bournemouth and Burnley but haven’t won a game since – drawing with Stoke, West Ham and Watford and suffering losses against both Brighton and Arsenal.
Shakespeare said: “I had a great time at West Brom, met some really nice people, kept in contact with them as well.
“(West Brom assistant head coach) Gary Megson was manager here for a time and gave me my opportunity in coaching and I was always grateful to him for doing that. And of course I know Tony (Pulis).
“It’s a club I grew up near so I watched the Jeff Astle days, the Bobby Hope days. There’s some great heritage there.”
