At first glance it seems a little surprising to see Brentford edging favouritism but then you realise that QPR manager Ian Holloway has a defensive headache on his hands, with centre-back Joel Lynch (foot) and right-back Darnell Furlong (sore knee) sidelined and Nedum Onuoha (hamstring), Grant Hall and James Perch (knee) all out.
Brentford also hold the recent edge over QPR having won their last three meetings and QPR are heading into this on a three match losing streak.
The Bees are hitting form, winning four of their last seven games and drawing twice.
